The Problem
Traditional void deck in our neighbourhoods often serves as an underutilised spaces, VOIDECK steps
in to redefine its purpose.
To create a collaborative third space for youths to set up their own booths and small businesses (e.g thrift stores, passion projects)
Young people are less interested in bonding with their neighbours and community, also known as the Kampung Spirit. This shift away from close community ties raises concerns about preserving our heritage and calls
for understanding the reasons behind this change.
Rather than restoring the kampung spirit, our objective is to reimagine the spirit anew through the perspective of Singapore’s youth.
Every month, Voideck will drop a new location for youths to fill it up in our website. We will announce its’ new location through social media.
We use immersive digital experiences around the event to foster meaningful interactions within the community,
infused with nostalgic elements.
Our approach seeks to bridge generational gaps, ensuring inclusivity and a shared connection among diverse age groups.
